SHANE METCALFE THE NEW AGENT FOR THE ALL NEW Y-AIM (YAMAHA - AUSTRALIAN
INSTITUTE OF MOTOCROSS)
2007 is here and Yamaha Motor Australia has implemented a new Motocross
focused rider training program for 2007, built on the solid foundations of the
Stephen Gall Academy of Off Road Riding that Yamaha Motor has supported since
1978.
Yamaha Australian Institute of Motocross (or Y-AIM) has been implemented to
further increase the frequency and level of rider training available. Y-AIM
agents have been carefully selected to build on the commitment by Yamaha to
continue to provide safe and effective training for riders of all brands of
dirt bikes, and cater for the new compulsory training required by Motorcycling
Australia. The new Y-AIM program will cater for the demands of the modern era.
Courses are offered over 1, 2 or 3 days by negotiation at locations Australia
wide. These courses cater for juniors and seniors, from beginners to advance.
Our flexible course format enables us to discuss the club's needs and provide
the best possible experience for all riders.
Lyndon Heffernan is the Director of the Yamaha Academy of Off Road Riding and
has been working on this exciting new MX specific program for some time.
Lyndon has recently confirmed the program will commence in 2007 and that I
(Shane Metcalfe) am the Y –AIM Academy Agent for South Australia and Northern
Territory.
My vast racing experience and coaching credentials will compliment the
implementation of the Y-AIM program in South Australian and the Northern
Territory. I am a professional Motocross and Supercross rider for Team 07
Yamaha Racing on the National circuit. I have been racing professional for
nine years. Over the past 20 years I have achieved a number of goals including
a number of State and National titles. I have also represented Australia in
New Zealand and Germany.
I have selected qualified assistants to help me run each riding school. We can
deliver a safe, professional up-to-date and valuable course for your club
members in 2007 teaching the latest riding techniques and the latest physical
preparation information.
Another recent accolade for the Academy occurred when Academy head coach Shane
Booth was contracted to work in the USA to be personal coach to James "Bubba"
Stewart.
Now with the new Y-AIM program up and running for 2007 I will personally be
available for a number of Y-AIM courses in South Australia and Northern
Territory.
All Y-AIM courses can be used for compulsory training logbooks and we can also
include "Kick start" new rider applications in most cases.
The Academy will be promoted through various website’s, national magazines and
at your local Yamaha dealership.
Keep up to date on all the riding school date’s which will be release on this
website soon. If you have any questions please feel to contact us through the
website.
